"King" of All Mantra

Just need to recite below phase within your mind whenever you meet people, animal, insect or anything the magical and "King" of All Mantra is:

White Umbrella Diety (Ushnisha-sitatapatra)

The enlighten goddess of the glorious white umbrella is a form of Tara and also a female form of the 1000-arm form of Avalokitesvara. She has 1000 faces, arms and legs; each face has 3 eyes, and she has 1 eye in the palm of each hand and the sole of each foot, showing that she watches and protects sentient beings. Her body emits bright light.

One of her other left hand holds aloft a white parasol which also symbolizes protection.It was said that the White Umbrella Deity was manifested by Shakyamuni Buddha in order to ward off the powerful attacks by the Asuras on the Heavenly beings. The Asuras saw that the Heavenly beings were granted all their wishes made to a holy tree in which the roots of the tree were planted in the Asura realm whereas the branches were spreading into the Heavenly realm.

Filled with jealousy and hatred, the Asuras launched attacks on the Heavenly beings and defeated them. Lord Shakyamuni Buddha came to know about it and transformed into the White Umbrella Deity before defeating the Asuras.By practing the Sadhana of the White Umbrella Deity with great devotion, one will be blessed with great fortune and be able to destroy lust and disasters. One will not be harmed by any black magic and curses.

If one wears a tree skin written with the mantra of the Deity, one will not be harmed by poisons, weapons, fire, and water. One will also be able to attain Buddhahood in the current body.

Mantra of the White Umbrella Diety:
hum ma ma hum ni svaha

The merits for the giver of Kathina Robes

*bring constant freshness, brilliance and purity of mind;

*bring wealth and fortune, together with success in following one's business/careers;

*facilitate concentration of the mind and attainment with ease of the Dhamma inside;

*bring about wisdom in using one's wealth for the creation of long-term benefit, nurturing and protecting oneself not only in this life, but also in those to come;

*bring physical beauty and radiance of complexion, making one loved by all;

*bring one respect of those around one.

Why it is called Katina or Kathina?

During Lord Buddha's time a group of thirty monks went away from the place of retreat where The Buddha was to spend three months. At the conclusion of the retreat they returned to visit the Buddha. On the way they had to face heavy rains. They were in trouble. One of them got extremely wet. It was a very hard time for him. Some how they visited the Buddha.

Seeing the monk whose robes were very wet the Buddha advised them to accept an extra robe as a KATHINA. The extra robe was always given to the one who needed it. (There are some rules to be observed by monks when using the kathina robe) If devotees offer a piece of cloth to monks in the name of kathina, the monks have to make a robe with that cloth on the same day. Lay people could do it as well.

Offering of Kathina robe is considered as one of the greatest meritorious activities. Also whatever is offered on Kathina day, the same merit could be obtained by donors. That is why people make various types of offerings on the day of the Kathina.

One of the stanzas chanted during Kathina glorifies the greatness of merit which one gets from performing Kathina. Even this solid Earth, or a solid rock or a piece of diamond could tremble, shake and break at times. However. the merit obtained by offering of kathina robe could not be nullified by any thing until one achieve the ultimate goal Nibbana.

That is why it is called KATINA.

One of the disciples called NAGITHA expressed the glory of doing it.

As a result of offering kathina robe to the MAHASANGA he was never been born in lower places (like the spirit world and the animal realm) and for the last thirty eons or KALPA he had been born in higher and blissful realms like the divine or human. The merit thus obtained was very helpful for him to realize the ultimate truth.
